Fluffy T-Rex?
A palaeontologist from University College, Dublin has suggested that large dinosaurs, such as the Tyrannosaurus rex, were covered in feathers (1), possibly multicoloured ones. According to Gareth Dyke ''All the evidence is that they looked more like birds than reptiles. Tyrannosaurs might have resembled(2) giant chicks(3). His conclusions are drawn(4) from discoveries in north-eastern China, where volcanoes buried(5) several dinosaurs alive and protected their cadaveres from oxygen, which would have rotted(6) them. In a few cases their feathers(1) were intact. He suggests that plumage evolved to keep them warm and only became an aid to flight(7) later.
